World Series 2026: Schedule, Dates and the Jerseys to Watch
The 2026 World Series begins Friday, October 23 and ends no later than Saturday, October 31. It is a best-of-seven between the American League and National League champions. The Milwaukee Brewers are the first team through, having swept the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the National League Championship Series on 15 October, and the American League side is still being decided: Cleveland leads Tampa Bay 2-1 going into Game 4 on 16 October. Here is the schedule, the routes each club took, the storylines worth watching, and the jerseys we would ship for each fanbase.
The 2026 World Series schedule
The series follows a 2-3-2 format: the first two and last two games are played at the higher seed's park, the middle three at the other. Games marked with an asterisk are only played if the series needs them.
| Game | Date | Venue | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game 1 | Friday, Oct. 23 | American Family Field, Milwaukee | Brewers hold home-field advantage |
| Game 2 | Saturday, Oct. 24 | American Family Field, Milwaukee | Second game at the same park |
| Game 3 | Monday, Oct. 26 | American League champion's park | Series shifts city |
| Game 4 | Tuesday, Oct. 27 | American League champion's park | Second game in the new city |
| Game 5* | Wednesday, Oct. 28 | American League champion's park | Only if needed |
| Game 6* | Friday, Oct. 30 | American Family Field, Milwaukee | Only if needed; returns to Milwaukee |
| Game 7* | Saturday, Oct. 31 | American Family Field, Milwaukee | Winner-take-all, only if needed |
Milwaukee has home-field advantage in the World Series because the Brewers finished with the better regular-season record of the two pennant winners, so Games 1 and 2 are at American Family Field. The National League series is over and the American League series is not: Cleveland leads Tampa Bay 2-1 before Game 4 in Cleveland on 16 October.
Who is still in it

| Cleveland Guardians | Won the AL Central, then came back from 0-2 to beat Chicago 3-2 | Lead Tampa Bay 2-1 in the AL Championship Series |
| Tampa Bay Rays | Won the AL East and the league's best record, then swept the New York Yankees 3-0 | Trail Cleveland 1-2 in the AL Championship Series |
| Los Angeles Dodgers | Won the NL West, then beat Atlanta 3-1 in the NL Division Series | Eliminated — swept by Milwaukee 4-0 in the NL Championship Series |
What to watch
The Dodgers never led the series. Los Angeles was trying to become the first National League team to win three straight World Series, and it led at some point in all four games of the NL Championship Series and lost all four. Milwaukee outscored the Dodgers 21-13 across the sweep.
The Brewers are back after 44 years. Milwaukee's only World Series appearance came in 1982, when the club was still in the American League, and the Brewers lost that one in seven games to St. Louis. Their first National League pennant is secured and they open this World Series at home with home-field advantage.
The Rays are one series from a first title. Tampa Bay is chasing a third pennant and its first World Series championship, and it did it with the shortest route of the four: a bye, then a sweep of New York. The Rays now trail Cleveland 2-1 and have scored 18 runs in six playoff games.
The Guardians are carrying 77 years of waiting. Cleveland's last championship came in 1948, and the road here ran through three straight elimination games after losing the first two at home to Chicago.

Questions we get asked
Where is the 2026 World Series being played?
Milwaukee hosts Games 1 and 2 at American Family Field, and would host Games 6 and 7 as well, because the Brewers hold home-field advantage as the pennant winner with the better regular-season record. Games 3, 4 and 5 go to the American League champion's park.
Who has qualified for the 2026 World Series?
Milwaukee, after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the National League Championship Series. The American League half is still open: Cleveland leads Tampa Bay 2-1, and that winner meets the Brewers in the World Series from 23 October.
What is the World Series format?
Best of seven with a 2-3-2 split: the team with home-field advantage hosts Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 if needed, and the other club hosts Games 3, 4 and 5 if needed.
When did the Brewers last reach the World Series?
1982, their only previous appearance, when Milwaukee was still an American League club. They lost that series in seven games to St. Louis, and the 2026 pennant is the franchise's first in the National League.
Do you sell jerseys for the teams still playing?
Yes — the Brewers, Guardians and Rays are all in stock, including home replicas, alternates, youth cuts and custom name-and-number styles, and Dodgers gear is still available. Every card above links to a current product.
Who has home-field advantage in the 2026 World Series?
Milwaukee, because home-field advantage goes to the pennant winner with the better regular-season record. That puts Games 1, 2, 6 and 7 at American Family Field and Games 3, 4 and 5 at the American League champion's park.
How did each team get to the 2026 World Series?
Milwaukee won the NL Central, beat San Diego 3-1 in the Division Series and swept the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the Championship Series. The American League half is still open: Cleveland came back from 0-2 to beat Chicago 3-2 and leads Tampa Bay 2-1, while the Rays won the AL East, finished with the league's best record and swept the New York Yankees 3-0.
